Colistas unglücklich Liebende

Lelio Colista (1629-1680) spielte mehrere Instrumente und war in Rom ein erfolgreicher Komponist und Lehrer. Er schrieb hauptsächlich Instrumentalmusik, aber auch Kantaten. Über jene, die auf diese Album zu hören sind heißt es im Textheft: « Der emotionale Inhalt von Colistas Kantaten dreht sich weitgehend um die konventionelle Figur des unglücklich Liebenden. Bei der Behandlung des Themas fügt der Komponist der Melancholie jedoch einen Hauch von zynischer Ironie und unverhohlener Misogynie hinzu. In zwei der drei Kompositionen werden verschiedene Aspekte der amourösen Verzweiflung aufgezeigt (…) Die Schmerzen der Liebe werden auch in einer anderen Kantate in Form eines dreiteiligen Dialogs analysiert, wobei jede Stimme die Gründe für dieses Unglück darstellt: Treue, Trennung und Eifersucht. » Diese Musik hat im Ensemble Giardino di Delizie und den Solisten die denkbar besten Sachverwalter. Ebenso wie die immer stimmungsvolle Behandlung der Instrumentalparts erweist sich auch der gesangliche Vortrag als beeindruckend Die Stimmen sind homogen und dennoch auf verschieden genug, um die Rollen zu differenzieren und sich auch vom kleinen, intimen Instrumentalensemble wunderbar abzuheben. Auch die Tonaufnahme ist gelungen, was das Hörvergnügen nur noch steigert. Lelio Colista (1629-1680) played several instruments and was a successful composer and teacher in Rome. He mainly wrote instrumental music, but also cantatas. The booklet describes the cantatas that can be heard on this album: « The emotional content of Colista’s cantatas largely revolves around the conventional figure of the unhappy lover. In his handling of the subject, however, the composer adds a touch of cynical irony and ill-disguised misogyny to the vein of melancholy. Various aspects of amorous desolation are displayed in two of the three compositions (…) The pains of love are also analysed in another cantata in the form of a three-part dialogue, each voice of which represents the reasons for such unhappiness: faithfulness, separation and jealousy. » This music has the best possible performers in the Giardino di Delizie ensemble and the soloists. As well as the always atmospheric treatment of the instrumental parts, the vocal performance is also impressive. The voices are homogeneous, yet dissimilar enough to differentiate the roles, and also stand out wonderfully from the small, intimate instrumental ensemble.
